“You’re very sweet to say such things, Angelique but unless something unforeseen happens I think I shall be fine.” Mari assured the other woman mentally as she looked over the battlefield ahead of her. It saddened her to see these two species fighting but war had always been the constant with most races and today was no exception. Striding forward she found herself pulled up short by a young woman who seemed calm and collected given the current situation.
The irony of both women telling her the same thing was not lost on Mari, “So I’ve been told but your commander saw fit to bring me into a war zone. I am trying to return to my family if you please.” Mari’s tone was as polite as if she was telling someone she didn’t want a cucumber sandwich at a tea party. Indeed as she spoke she continued to move forward towards whichever of her family was closest at the time. She paused long enough to fire another sigal into the air to calm those around her so she could continue to pass by and the aura that was projected out from the energy burst had many standing aside for her. Some even gave her what resembled a roman salute as she passed and she nodded politely. Moving ever forward, one calm step after another even as vampires and dragons died around her. It wasn’t that she didn’t care as much as she knew if she didn’t recall Vlad to himself his PTSD would likely leave none alive.
She was very vexed at Samael at this moment in time. If she had seen him she might have been tempted to kick him in the shin for causing so much destruction. It was unconscionable and irreverent to the lives he held in his sway. He had brought death to his people and then grew angry when it answered. She’d seen many men like him fall. No doubt he and Vlad would come to bad ends because of this. It made her sad to think of it and she hoped she would be able to mitigate some of it.
Seeing Angelique Mari smiled, “Ahhh there you are! I am glad you made it to me unharmed. I was beginning to worry. Have no fear Angelique I am well. This young lady has offered to assist us. Now, shall we meet Vlad or Ingeras? I’m uncertain which would be the best course and I do not wish to get in the way of artillery should it be incoming.”
