The angel, Micha was perceptive. Samael did not know much of angels, besides the fact that they were typically the messengers and warriors of a deity worshipped by humans. It appeared to Samael that the humans had many different religions, and worshipped many types of gods in their own accord. Or at least, humans had a different way than dragons did in worshipping gods. They sacrificed their possessions, loved ones, and even pets to appease their gods. This god that represent was said to have been one that once had a fiery temper of his own, before something changed in him, making him more forgiving and understanding, now only requiring prayer, worship, and to live a certain way that appealed to him. Samael’s gods were not so different, yet they did not require sacrifice either. Instead, they often offered praise to those that showed their mettle. They wanted to be challenged, and that was what many dragons were attuned to doing.
Before Samael could speak, the mortal doctor suddenly stepped in, making demands of Samael for the Queen’s sake. Before long, his tongue wagged too wild for Isolde’s comfort, and suddenly, his sister was positioned to kill, if necessary. Looking into Isolde’s eyes, he could already see the fire in her growing, and the doctor had made an incredibly grave mistake by speaking so boldly to Samael. It Samael gave the word, or if the doctor so much as flinched, then his head, and possibly his vital organs, would leave well in advance of his body touching the ground. That was only one scenario, and it was the one in which Isolde would have felt the most merciful. However, as Samael motioned for Isolde to lower her blade, he watched as the Queen stood, revealing her angelic wings, and thus her true nature. As she spoke of her warnings, Samael simply chucked with a smile, seemingly unfazed by the warning.
“My kind has many that are like yourself,” he replied simply, “perhaps even kin to your kind in some way, but even so, it took legions of them to finally stop me. However, your true nature was revealed to me the moment the men that returned with you and your children told me of when your son, Micha, arrived in Sylthanis. Who you are, and your rank in your people’s kingdom has been noted. However, as I have already given my word that neither you, nor your blood kin shall be harmed, I cannot say the same for your husband. His allegiance with the demons that have mutually attacked our kind long before I arose again has forced us to retaliate. He must know that his actions come with a price.”
Samael was silent a moment more as the look in his eyes reassured the Queen that he was adamant on the path he has taken, when a soldier approached the outside of the tent. Entering, he knelt before Samael before he was promptly given the command to rise again. “My Lord, the Elders of the Ice Clan have given word that they are ready to see you.” Samael nodded and looked to Isolde. “Fetch the youngling, Minerva,” he said, “I want to see if her visions give us anything on whether the Ice Dragons will be inclined to agree with us, or not.” Before Isolde could leave, Samael looked over to Katya and grinned. “As for your offer to assist us with your father,” he began, “come with me, and speak to the Ice Clan’s Elders. Tell them what you know about your father, and you have my word that you will be free to go, unless you wish to stay with my kind.”
Taking one more glance over to the Queen, Samael smirked as well towards her, “I give you my word now, that she will be safe with us. No harm shall come to her when in our company.”
Samael gave Isolde her orders, and Katya was given her chance to do what she desired against her father. With that, he left the tent and began to walk his way down through the Encampment, past blocks of tends, until he reached the far end, towards the threshold of the Ice Clan’s home. As pillars of ice came sliding down, Samael waited until Isolde and Minerva were at his side, givng Katya the time it would take Minerva and Isolde to join him, if she so chose.
