Powers
- Illusion: Fae can make themselves appear human to all senses even if their native form is something different all together. Likewise they can make others believe the illusions they cast upon them. This ability is often used to trick humans and other species.
- Fairy Ring: The ability to trap others in a circle that they cannot escape. Fairy rings also allow them access to their realm. When a person is trapped in a fairy ring they are effectively in stasis until the castor returns to release them. This could take centuries and explains the extended disappearance of some humans from their homes.
- Immortality: Fae are effectively immortal and do not die easily unless iron is used against them.
- Shapeshifting (To human and back): Fae have the ability to change their shape from their natural look to human.
- Blessings of Danu: The fae often have a gift that is associated with their form. This can vary with the type of fae they are. It is woven into their being and is fundamental as breathing to them.
- Water breathing: At home beneath the waves, though she had a greater degree of comfort and control in freshwater bodies than in saltwater, Vivienne can breathe easily underwater.
- Hydrokinesis: Vivienne can bend water to her will, and can use it to heal.
- Scrying: Vivienne is capable of using water to scry for the location of others.
Skills
- Highly skilled in hand to hand combat, Vivienne fought alongside her people in the civil war that has dominated the fae kingdom.
- Diplomacy: As reigning monarch, Vivienne must use a great degree to diplomatic tact when dealing with the laws of her realm and the requests of her people.
- Magic: Tutored in magic by former lover, Merlin, Vivienne has become quite a capable sorceress.
- Teleportation (of sorts): Vivienne is capable of travelling through bodies of water at will, though this can often be tiring.

MENTAL TRAITS
✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵
----------------------------------------------------------------
personality-
- First and foremost, Vivienne is a loving mother to her daughter, Raven. While she has never disclosed the identity of Raven’s father to others, Vivienne’s daughter is considered legitimate crown princess of Avalon.
- Following the death of her parents, Vivienne was crowned Queen of a nation at war. She rules passionately, and will fight for the wellbeing and happiness of her people.
- Vivienne is not one to disclose the details of her personal life to the general public. Where it benefits her people, she is open and honest, but she is an incredibly private person by nature.
- As is the nature of many water fae, Vivienne is capable of maintaining a level head in stressful situations and is known for her open mindedness and calm approach to political discussion.
- When it is required, of course, water can be deadly. Do not perceive her outwardly calm appearance for weakness, as Vivienne can be as vicious as any of the fae in protecting that which she holds dear.
strengths-
- When in or around water, particularly fresh water, Vivienne is stronger and more alert. It’s like caffeine for water fae.
- Physically capable, she is not one to be challenged lightly in combat.
- Compassion. As queen, Vivienne would give the clothes off of her back to her people were it to benefit them. Her compassionate rule has made her a popular monarch amongst the Seelie fae.
- Politically savvy, and with a wit as quick and sharp as the bite of a whip, Vivienne can use words as easily and as dangerously as she can swords.
weaknesses-
- Her daughter is her world, to lose her would destroy Vivienne.
- The man she loved disappeared shortly before Vivienne discovered her pregnancy. Merlin’s abrupt disappearance broke Vivienne’s heart, and she has never truly recovered.
- Iron. In the fashion of any of the fae, Vivienne’s truest physical weakness is the touch of iron.
- Fire/Excessive heat. A water fae, Vivienne can be weakened to the point of potential death by fire.
- Having recently agreed to the Seelie-Unseelie concordat, Vivienne was forced to end the war that ravaged Avalon by agreeing to the formation of the Unseelie court, a fae kingdom separate from her rule. While it saved a great many lives and hundreds more years of conflict, Vivienne still feels that she has failed those loyal to her who dwell now in foreign lands.
likes-
- Solitary walks. They’ve been a rarity since she became Queen, but she’s always enjoyed the tranquility of the lakeside as the sun rises.
- Dancing, especially the waltz.
- Combat training. She finds sword fighting an exhilarating pastime, and thoroughly enjoys a good spar.
- Swimming
dislikes-
- Social climbers. A great number of those who proclaimed to love and support her parents supported the rebellions that formed the Unseelie Court.
- Dragonfire, nothing makes a water face hot under the collar like roaring flames.
- The constant refrain of ‘when will you marry, your majesty?’
- Vivienne has no patience for liars, these are dangerous times and trust is a rare commodity.
fears-
- That she will fail as a mother and as a ruler.
- That Merlin truly is gone. She maintains that he is dead, but until she sees proof of this she will always, somewhere inside, believe that he is alive.
- That she will meet the same fate as her parents and leave Raven without a mother, having never told her about her father.
- Fire, especially that of dragons.
goals-
- To bring peace to Avalon.
- To raise her daughter well, to be a good and fair ruler should she ever become Queen.
- To find out the cause of Merlin’s sudden disappearance.
- To help assure that humanity does not succeed in destroying a second planet.
- To build links with the Unseelie court in order to maintain the tentative accord between the two courts.
secrets-
- That the sorcerer Merlin is the father of her child, and the only person she has ever truly loved.
- She has written many letters to Merlin over the years, never sent or read, detailing their daughter’s life.

family-Mother: Titania (Deceased), Father: Oberon (Deceased), Daughter: Raven
marital status-Single
history-
The only daughter of former King and Queen of Avalon, Oberon and Titania, Vivienne’s childhood was entirely overtaken by her parents tumultuous marriage. She earned the title ‘Lady of the Lake’ through her frequent escapes to the Lake of Avalon. Sequestered, within the forests surrounding the castle she called her home, the lake is a doorway between the faery realm and all others. Vivienne learned early in her years how to manipulate the lake to travel where she wished, aided by the water fae heritage of her father’s blood. Her favourite hiding place was the human realm. It was there, hiding in the woods after her lessons, that she met a young sorcerer named Merlin. Quite simply, they fell deeply and passionately in love. He tutored her in magic, and she in turn taught him to fight. The growing turmoil of their respective homelands seemed a far off dream while they were together.
But not for long.
Merlin vanished, as suddenly as he had appeared in her life, shortly before a heartbroken Vivienne realised that she was with child. And as the rebellions within Avalon turned into a fully fledged civil war, Vivienne gave birth to a daughter. Raven. It was at this point that Vivienne begun to turn into the Queen she would become. This child, she vowed, would not live her life in a war torn country. It was time to pick up her sword, not to train, but to fight. Her broken heart did not matter, it was her daughter for whom she fought, and for whom she lived. Her father, Oberon, was the first of her parents to die. He fell on the battlefield, amidst the bloodiest battle their people had seen for thousands of years. During an attack on a Seelie encampment some weeks later, her mother Titania was killed, and Vivienne was pronounced, in the early hours of the next day, acting Queen of Avalon.
Tired of bloodshed, Vivienne met with rebel diplomats in order to attempt the formation of a ceasefire treaty. Out of these meetings, the Seelie-Unseelie concordat was formed, allowing the formation of a separate kingdom within Avalon ruled by the Unseelie court. An end to the bloodshed, this concordat was still highly contested by advisors on either side. Vivienne was officially coronated, and began her rule. Rebuilding the kingdom alongside raising her daughter with the greatest love and affection, Vivienne’s broken heart, while slow to heal, is no longer the greatest of her concerns.
