What was time to a creature such as her?
For days she lingered here in an abandoned section of the Brigade HQ. This hall was known to be inhabited by the dead yet what was truly strange was that it's door was a mirror. That mirror served one very good purpose and that was to distract Luci from entering the headquarters. Every time the murderous young spirit approached the door she would catch her own appearance and cease activity. For hours on end she would stare at her pale lacerated face, her crudely stitched mouth and she would weep silently. The sound of her muffled weeping was a rather haunting sound- one that drove those who were mentally weak to sleepless nights.
Yet after six days of this staring contest with herself, Luci managed to break free of the mirrors "spell". When she did she managed to send out one word, written in blood. Across the building on the library wall a message would start to appear, the walls bleeding it out. It was unsettling to think that due to her exposure to the unstable nature of the portals her powers were growing far beyond those of a normal phantom.
I KNOW
The message on the wall was simple yet a very vague one. The way it appeared made it obvious that it was being projected by one of the many ghosts haunting the tunnel. Her final bit of energy that she was saving was spent on projecting a single word past the wards that kept her out of the HQ. "Lovelace." the word drifted randomly through the minds of those present that day and to most it would seem as a mere thought. But to those sensitive to the dead, they would know that something was reaching out, trying to be heard. In this place it was a constant battle to be heard over the constant misery and confusion of those who were dead and afraid.
Luci was like them once, then she learned she could directly interact with the living. Despite her meetings with mortals ending in blood in violence more often than not she loved when they spoke to her. When they came and offered stories in exchange for answers only a spirit could know. Her favorite thing though was playing hide n' seek. If you managed to survive that a treasure trove of secrets would be hurled at your feet. Yet no one had managed that feat to date, many were not sure they would ever beat or be rid of Luci.
