Relationship Claims

Relationships on Yalanze do not necessarily fall under Earth conventions. Given the sheer variety of races there can be many different types of relationships of varying duration as such some of the terminology might reflect the nature of the species on this board to one degree or another. These pairings as such may not always be hetero-normative as a result. Not all of these relationships are permanent. Be aware that a relationship and it's nature must be agreed on by both parties. If a relationship changes be sure to let us know and above all be courteous and up front to your fellow players. Do not present your character as something they are not when discussing relationships with other players. Above all respect others relationships whatever they may be. If there is a set pairing please respect the choice of those players. Please post your pairings in a reply to this message using the code provided.

The definitions are as follows:

Unavailable

These are characters that for whatever reason do not wish to engage in romantic entanglements. Whatever their reasons they are disinclined to look for a relationship with another being.


Single

Your character is not currently in a relationship or has recently left a relationship.

One Night Stand

This relationship is of a short duration and is purely sexual in nature. It is not expected to last long (although it can grow into something long term).

Courting

A character is interested in someone and has gone through the proper protocols with family to see the person they are interested in. There is no animosity with family in this sort of arrangement.


Engaged

This is a pairing that are planning on getting married but are in the process of arrainging for the celebration and ceremonies. They are committed to each other and may be in the process of completing holy rites for their species.

Arranged Marriage

You or your family have made a contractual obligation with another party to marry and cohabitate. There may or may not be love or sex involved in the marriage. Vampires often have arranged marriages to pool resources or end century old feuds. These relationships are sanctioned by whichever governing body rules the characters in question.

Soul Bonded Pairing

This is predominantly for Dragons. This is a soul bond that forms between dragons in love for the benefits of them both. They can pick up on each others thoughts and feelings and even know their pasts. A soul bond makes both parties stronger.

Marriage for Love

This is exactly as it is implied. These people have married for love and have made it plain to those around them that it is so. They have sometimes defied convention and suffered to be together and other times it was a simple ceremony with those they love around them.

Life Mated Pairing

This is a soul bonded dragon pair with offspring. They are forming a new family line and are committed to each other via draconic ceremonies that solidify their connection to their people and each other. A life mated pair do not have to declare themselves right away. Many wait until their offspring are older so they may celebrate with them.
