Bellator hatched out of a nest of 8 eggs. He was the smallest of the hatchlings but the most courageous and fastest to learn already. He almost instantly wandered from the nest to explore what was making a large shadow nearby. His brothers and sisters were still trying to figure out how to walk and what their wings were. Bellators father was out hunting and his mother wasn't far but was out of the cavern area they were in. When Bellator came upon the source of the shadow he found a large serpent that had actually eaten four of Bellators brothers and sisters whilst they were still eggs throughout the last couple weeks. Immediately Bellator wanted to play with the serpent not understanding the dangers and as a natural apex predator having no true instinct of survival for avoiding such dangerous as normally they wouldn't apply to dragons. The serpent etched Bellator to come closer and closer as it rattled its tail in front of Bellator distracting him. Bellator like a moth to flame pounced and leaped for the tail every time enjoying himself greatly. When another one of Bellators brothers made his way over it however was not a playful but instead frightful. He urged Bellator to back away from the serpent which just confused Bellator. The serpent did not like the intrusion of another dragon or its negative disruption toward its victim and went in a flash had ensnared the young dragling right before Bellators eyes and began squeezing the life out of it. Bellator began yelling for help but knew it wouldn't come fast enough. Bellator mustered all his strength and charged the serpent lowering his head adn driving his tiny barely visible horns into the side of the serpent which sent him bouncing backwards on his back. The serpent let go of Bellators brother and went to move in on Bellator who was still struggling to get back on his feet. Bellotors vision twirled as he found himself now coiled up in the serpents grasp being squeezed. But Bellator was not afraid, he glared back at the snake with a deathly glare even as his breath drew shallower and shallower knowing that his brother would live. Bellator fainted, he awoke to a fire roasting a deliscious smelling giant snake. His mother had heard his calls and came just in time to save Bellator. It was that moment that Bellator decided that he had to grow stronger if he hoped to protect his family, he had to be more mindful of who he was with, and he had to be the best if he wanted to succeed.
Bellator was still the smallest when him and his siblings grew old enough to effectively fly and use their abilities. However Bellator still learned the fastest and had the most experience using his abilities the longest. Bellators mother also had another nest of brothers and sisters and generally tended to them giving Bellators generation allot of freedom. Bellator wanted to go with his father to hunt all the time but was always told he was too small and would get hurt. This infuriated Bellator who always wanted to prove himself. Bellator spent his time fighting with his other brothers and sisters and hunting what he could where they lived on his own. Eventually Bellator grew bigger and with more experience than his siblings was allowed to go hunting finally. Though still extremely small in comparison to his father and the other adult dragons Bellator was still about two stories and could pick a man up in one talon covering almost his whole body. He loved the thrill of hunting, usually it was large birds of prey. It wasn't until Bellator was around 20 that he began to learn that his kind was from another world and that they were not alone on this one. He was taught how to change his appearance to that of a human so he could blend in and taught of the other races and their cultures and told ultimately it would be up to him whether or not he would learn more and interact with them and warned the dangers of interfering as a dragon. Upon his travels breaking away from home to explore the world he witness many wars, battles, skirmishes, and duels. Everytime he witnessed one he longed to join. The people seemed so tiny and fragile, so weak and helpless, yet they through themselves sword and shield to defend their country and kin like he did when he was a hatchling. He soon realized his love for battle and wanted to dedicate his life to it but wasn't sure how. Bellator spent allot of his time training in his human form, learning all sorts of combat both hand and with swords and spears. He wandered the dangerous forests, climbed treacherous mountains, and battled bandits and thieves each time yearning for more and even hoping that someone will try to murder him or rob him again.
Around age 40 Bellator wandered into darkened and deathly lands. He wasn't sure where most of the life went but found himself alone for a long time. He began to catch a horrid scent all around him though. Even his dragon enhanced keen eyes couldn't pick up the flash like movements of the ones tracking him. He had been told all about vampire but at this point had never seen any first hand. He drew his sword and readied himself for a fight if it came to it. But no fight came, nothing came. Bellator sheathed his sword and continued on wondering why the vampires were doing nothing but watching him. He stumbled upon a lost caravan of travelers. They seemed to be in a constant fright so Bellator offered to assist in escorting them to safer lands. Day and night he spent with these people and grew to like them for though small and fragile like most humans they were quite entertaining and surprised Bellator with new musics and stories of their travels, his favorites of the fights they came across. As they were just shy of the borders however, they decided to make camp to rest seeing how close they were. Bellator stood watch at night like he always did with a handful of other men. Something was different about this night though. Things seems a little too quiet and something in Bellators bones just didn't feel right. One by one the men on guard disappeared. Bellator caught the same foul stench he did when he first came to the land but this time there was something else. Blood was in the air. Bellator went to race to the source when a powerful blow sent him to the ground. He looked up and a pale huminoid figure was already upon him. Bellator held the vampire at bay who was trying to bite him and with strength the vampire wasn't expecting and a burst of powerful air Bellator threw a punch that sent the vampire flying 20 feet back. Bellator rose to his feet but his little skirmish was all the time in the world for his enemies apparently. The caravan was turned into a bloodbath. Those that were not fed on and killed were taken, the vampires had fled. Bellator was enraged. They made a terrible mistake choosing to leave Bellator to avenge the people he grew to like however. Bellator could not catch the walking dead on foot. He transformed into his true form and took off in flight with the very winds assisting his speed. Enraged storm clouds followed him where he flew, lightning bolted towards the fleeing vampire randomly as Bellator closed in. When he was close enough Bellator past the vampire and appeared to be encircling them. However shortly after a tornado appeared and sucked the vampires to it. Bellator used the force to swoop down and with is talons tear the vampire apart. He grabbed what humans remained alive and flew out of the lands and close to a village. He dropped the humans off where they would be seen and flew off himself.
He turned human once more and sought a way that he could help these people more without having to wait for trouble to seek him which only got people he found to like hurt or killed. He found a organization that could give him the battle he desired, glory he wanted, and purpose he needed. He enlisted in the brigade already a hardy warrior and compared to most humans, quite large. Bellator didn't let rank frighten him, when tested or challenged he struck down and ensured victory over even his captain. Rumors of his prowess and skill grew and battle after battle he proved himself to be among the best warriors. He was quickly promoted all the way to LT to assist his captain. Bellator began displaying exceptional tactical skills and leadership qualities. With the approval of his captain Bellators perhaps harsh but methodological training shaped his command into the finest soldiers the brigade had. Their training consisted of extensive wilderness and wildlife survival, physically demanding training regiments like capturing a flag upon steep, high mountain top in storms, enduring torture, and extensive training in not just sword fighting, archery, or what ever your specialty was but with hand to hand combat and at least a secondary weapon too. When Bellator found his place among the brigade things changed drastically. Bellator got a message from one of his kin about how his father had passed and he was requested to come back home and help care for his newly hatched brothers and sisters. Bellator questioned why he was being asked to come back when he had countless other family members but was given a frightfully horrifying answer that he no longer did. All he was told was their was a incident with some vampires who had grown in power with a pact with demons and needed vast amounts of dragon blood for a ritual. Bellators family nest was the closest. Many fell to the combination of a surprise attack and powerful magic before they could ward off the threat. That same weekend however Bellators captain fell in battle and Bellator was asked to take his place. Bellator had to decline and faked his own death to take care of his family and kin for centuries.
When Bellator was finally able to go his own way again he went back to the vastly changed brigade who had long since forgotten him over the centuries. Bellator made his way through the ranks once again and established himself as a great warrior. With centuries of growth and experience, wisdom and knowledge, Bellator was greater than he ever was before. His actions always tactful and strategic, his training always with purpose, and his leadership almost flawless. Bellator had trouble seeing enemies as truly threats often leading his men into situation they might have been able to otherwise avoid or overcame easier. Never the less if nothing else this hardened his troops and made them grow into greater warriors. Bellator accepted all under his command whether one fought with a blade or magic he expected the same from all and gave the same to all. Bellator did anything and everything for his troops, when cut off from supply routes during heavy battle Bellator "somehow" single handedly managed to sneak in food, water, and medical supplies long enough for the supply lines to be reestablished. Heroes of war who would fall from fatal wounds were given one last visit from Bellator sometimes their fearless captain and magically emerge from the tent wounds healed and even themselves no recollection of how. None the less though harsh at time and perhaps intimidating all the time Bellator did care for his men and respected them more than they knew. For he was a truly a great dragon, they were but men and woman, and despite this were able to accomplish the same things he did. They were perhaps better than even him because of this aspect. Bellator found himself with great pride when he was chosen to succeed his role as captain and become a commander. He swore he would never let the brigade down and with over ten years of faithful and legendary service continues to prove himself to his men and cause.
