A New Chapter (Merry)

Recently it seemed as if everything had turned into chaos, as her world had been turned upside down, in only a short few months. Annika looked around at her surroundings, as she tried to take everything in. As all of this was the result of one person. A evil man named Rodney Wilson. Her stepfather. As she walked down the Brigade hallway, Annika's mind turned to her family. First her grandmother was killed in a mysterious way, that nobody knew about. Then when they read her grandmother's will, something just did not seem right. While Annika was hurt, her mother Melinda in shock, the only person who got really upset, was her stepfather Rodney, and that was only because, Rodney felt her mother should have inherit more.
After that day, Annika started to notice some of the weird and evil looks that, her stepfather gave her. That was not enough to show something wasn't right, it was the start of her family's down fall. Just as Annika was starting to mourn her grandmother, the next thing she knew, her mother was killed the following week. For Annika could never forget walking into her home, to walk into what felt like a ice cold house. Soon as she entered the living room, there was no way to express the change in the house. Instead of a warm welcome home feeling, Annika felt like she had just walked into a strangers house. So when she found her mother dead, Annika knew then that her stepfather Rodney was behind everything, she just had to find a way to prove it.
Now with the death of her family, Annika had no choice but to go to her father. But even with that, she did not want to put either of her father or his family in danger from her stepfather Rodney. So that her only one option, and that was for Annika to start her training, just like her grandmother Annmarie wanted for her to do. For Annika to go joined the Brigade and to help protect others. So that's what she did. With the guidance and help of her father's mother and grandmother Desiree, Annika started her Brigade training, and went through everything until she finally completed her training.
Now here she was walking the hallways of the Brigade, trying to find the person, that the first letter was addressed to. Annika had two letters that she had to deliever. One to a person named Merry, and the other one to a Bellator. She learned from Desiree that, both were high up in the Brigade. Merry was in charge of the Mage Division and helped train Witches. Annika had asked for directions to find the person she was looking for. Now she just had to hope she would find that Merry was around here somewhere in the area.
