As her rage subsided, she was only left with the sorrow. Out there on the field she handled the death as well as anyone else had, she said her piece about how sad it was, moved on. Yet now that it was days after the fact she was falling apart at the seams, it was clear to those present this very moment. They tried, tried so hard to comfort her, but there was that feeling that she was alone. Katia could never put a finger on it, but something inside of her told her that she was destined for something that would leave her alone for all eternity.
"..but is fear enough in life? Did you find it to be enough? Is that why you found mother? Is that why you keep her here? Because fear was all you wanted out of your people?" she asked, staring at the floor. This despair thing was such a drag, perhaps soon enough she would find a way out of it, but for now it was all encompassing. There was too much to think about now, her parents only added to the vortex that threatened to consume her sanity.
"If I were to leave here, to go with you, what would happen? If we were to go to where you "recharge" would they not destroy me? I am a perversion of the natural order of things.." she said, it seemed she had just as hard a time accepting herself as the others did. It wasn't that she was not curious to see where her mother truly came from, but she was also afraid of the light having lived in the darkness for so long. Her mothers true form had stricken a fear into her that she had never known before. For Kat it was not comfort she took away from this angel, but terror.
Would they ever return? There were so many questions that swam through her mind, she was so uncertain now. What would their people think of this sudden disappearance? Did it matter what they thought? They talked highly of her father because he had raised them up out of the mud quite literally. "Will I be accepted there? Will I be accepted anywhere?" she asked, her tone sounded as if she was pleading for an answer.
