“We have company. A young lady from the Brigade, My Lord.” She said gently as she tried to make sure the situation stayed calm. There was no need to get into a frenzy over a visitor as far as she could see. It would serve no purpose.
“Duke Radcliff wants a lot of things. It does not mean he will get what he wants.” she’d seen his speculative gazes and knew when a male wanted more than he had. She distrusted him and in a world where she generally didn’t trust anyone to say he stood out made it doubly so.
“It may not be balanced but no ones life is perfect.” She added wearily. She tried not to get irritated at the thought she was being judged but it still rankled.
Exhaling slightly she calmed down next to her husband and tried to settle herself a bit, as much for his sake as her own, then Agatha began to touch closer to the truth she got a worried look in her eyes, Yes, an angel.” She confirmed quietly. It was funny, she always thought there would be this big revelation about her nature and an uproar yet here she was talking to an absolute stranger who just outted her to her daughter, “No thanks to you babbling to my child. That had been something I had been waiting to get permission to speak to my daughter about.” She said a bit annoyed, “Agatha, your life is the Brigade. You were meant for other things. You were never supposed to be average. Things happen for a reason. Do you think that they just happen randomly? Everything we do is already known. Even if we ourselves do not realize it.”
“I will keep this in mind.” She said as she took the throwing star and carefully wrapped it in a bit of fabric before placing it in a vanity drawer. “Thank you.” She added gently. “I shall see that Duke Radcliff has his sword returned to him.” she said as Agatha went to hide.
“I am fine, My Lord.” She reiterated to Dameon as she rubbed his arm gently to sooth him, “All is well. Don’t worry.” When Katia climbed up the wall she walked over to her, “Shhhh, love. It’s alright. She’s not one of the ones who attacked she’s from the Brigade. You can come down now. Let me see your shoulder.” a pissed off half vampire was never a good idea in any case. Exhaling, she tried coaxing her off the wall while Dameon and Agatha spoke.
