Bellator had faced many foes in his long live. Some were beneath him, others more challenging, and some admittingly even beyond Bellators might, but faced them he did. In all cases though Bellator never backed down and never gave up and so more times than not Bellator rose to be the victor. But from time to time even he fell to another and if he deemed the being worthy of such honorable besting then Bellator was usually quite sporting. However from time to time Bellator was defeated because of too many mistakes on his part, trickery, and unforgivable acts of unnatural power that couldn't be forseen.
In these cases Bellator mine as well of been a fire dragon, spurting into fits of rage over the ordeal, and obsessed with vengeance. This was one of those days. Bellator had grown tired of his menial duties as commander which was normal for him being a warrior. He found it taxingly hard to focus on tasks like logistics and pay issues and paper work and frankly anything that couldn't be accomplished using a sword and a shield. Bellator found himself going on more dangerous missions to avoid his men having to risk their lives on what would no doubt be considered suicide missions and also the money from these things Bellator poured back into his sections for equipment, better quartering, and repairs.
On a recent mission Bellator was ambushed by a trio of evil witches. Normally this was hardly a threat, Bellator found most uneducated magicians inferior to what one might find in the brigades ranks of highly trained mages. Also as a dragon Bellator saw these beings usually nor more dangerous than a normal human, humans were humans, lesser beings and hardly recognized as threats. But these three had powerful ties to demons that Bellators underestimation caused him to overlook their possible dangers. Utilizing demons and even worse, some necromanced undead hordes the harmless three witches became demonic possesed monsters of a small undead army.
Bellator none the less beat back the horde and truck down the witches but was caught off guard when this unleashed the demons completely. Apparently a ritual had been done and the witches blood and the surrounded death and dead had all been propagated by the demons who tricked the witches into their inevitable deaths so there true forms could be unleashed into the world. Bellator got hit from behind by powerful demonic magic and knocked unconscious. When he woke the high wanted crimnals he was hired to transfer to another kingdom prison were freed. Bellator took the defeat harder than the failed mission and found himself lost in the books and scripts of the mages trying to find out more on what happened, how to reverse it, but most importantly how to track this specific demon so he could get his revenge.
The thing about allot of demons were, they were hard to kill. Usually took more than a regular blade to strike them down and they had many forms, some as large as young dragons. Worst off they were tricksters, puppeteers, and in Bellators eyes damn cowards who rarely faced an opponent head on unless victory was assured and the odds were in their favor. Bellator hated them more than he hated vampire. Bellator had been up all night reading through rituals, incantations, and lore on many magics most of which he didn't really understand some of which he knew more of than these mages, and others he simply didn't care to recognize focused on one thing really.
A few times he thought he found a spell that would track and summon the demon he was looking for. However the spells ended badly and the last attempt lead to a angry fire sprite setting fires everywhere before the mages could stop it and angrily told Bellator if he had any inquiries to bring it to them and they would properly perform the spells if it was appropriate. Bellator passed out on a table on accident, his face in a book of demonology and surrounded by many others. Bellator finally decided to keep things simple and was set on first finding out what the demon he faced was. Bellator began dreaming of himself in his true form traping and tormenting the demon before tearing it to shreds. It had no chance without its honor less tricks.
